Nothing But Blue Skies As Far As The Eye Can See

Hi All,
I know I've been delinquent in updating lately but things are still rolling along merrily here on Gan. I'm officially 8 days short of being done with the project and packing up to head back to the States. After 5 weeks I'm ready to go but haven't yet hit the "Get me off of this godforsaken island now" point yet. One more week.

Not much has been going on here weather wise. Ever since Christmas we've had relatively quiescent conditions, with the past week being particularly dry. It's been a weird change - the first 3 weeks I was here it rained every day and now we haven't had a drop of rain in 8 days. One thing that I've learned is that I've got a lot to learn before I understand tropical meteorology. Starting the past few days and continuing through the last week of S-PolKa observations I'll be writing the science summaries for the radar and Gan island every other day. If you're curious about some of our science they're being hosted on Houze's site at: http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~houze/DYNAMO-AMIE/

Without much to talk about I thought I would simply post some pictures I've snapped over the past few weeks. Low moisture in the atmosphere has been contributing to some of the bluest skies I've ever seen. I've also caught a handful of sunsets since my last update.

Enjoy!
